The Division has the following remaining comments
concerning the laboratory analytical data submitted by Mountain Coal Company (MCC) on April
8, 1996.
1. Not all of the requested data were submitted for groundwater monitoring data collected
for the period October 1993 through September 1994. However, as stated in MCC's
April 8, 1996 letter, all of the laboratory data sheets are available at the mine office.
2. Minor data transcription errors from the laboratory data sheets to the report tables were
still noted for several wells.
3. With MCC's October 8, 1996 AHR response letter, a revised Table E-15 was submitted
for Wilcox Reservoir No.l. The laboratory analytical data submitted in your April 8,
1997 letter (06/19/95) sample does not match the 06/19/95 results in Table E-15.
4. During the final review of the laboratory data submitted with your April 8, 1997 letter,
it was noted that specific laboratory data sheets did not correspond to the chain-of-custody
forms with which they were attached.
Although the data sets submitted still exhibit some discrepancies, the Division is not requesting
that additional revisions be made to the 1993, 1994, and 1995 AHRs.
