Memo - AHR CRCC - 3 - February 27, 1986
Recommendations
I would recommend the following changes to the monitoring program at Chimney
Rock.
- Delete water quality sampling at Well W-1. The completion data for this
hole is questionable.
- Begin sampling Well A-1 for the water quality parameters listed in the
Permit Revision No. 1 Document.
- The permittee should obtain permission from the landowner to resume
monitoring of Well W-7.
- Mine personnel should walk the east side of the reclaimed East Pit soon
after surface runoff (i.e., Sto115teimer Creek high water) has occurred. All
springs and seeps which may be issuing from the reclamation area should be
mapped. An estimate of discharge should also be made. I am unsure weather
any springs or seeps will be observed, but I would not expect to see any above
6555 feet elevation. Please note that the absence of springs/seeps also is
important information.
If I can be of further assistance, please contact me.
/ph
7958E
