<br />• <br />•' <br />ASH DISPOSAL <br />During 1993, a total of 25,060 tons of mixed fly and bottom ash were disposed <br />at the Keenesburg mine. Of the total, 16,084 tons were disposed in A-pit and <br />8,976 tons were disposed in B-pit. On August 9th, 1993, disposal operations <br />were concluded in A-pit and resumed in B-pit. As of the end of 1993, a total <br />of 131,905 tons of ash were disposed in A-pit, 5,667 tons in the north end of <br />B-pit, and 39,162 tons in the south end of B-pit. The only waste accepted was <br />ash from the Coors' Power Plant in Golden. The sole coal source used was from <br />the Colowyo Coal Company. <br />A grab ash sample was taken from the Coors' Power Plant <br />and bottom ash bins. The samples were analyzed by <br />Characteristic Leaching Procedure. The ash was <br />radioactivity. Copies of the analyses are included in t <br />PAGE 17 <br /> <br />from both the fly ash <br />using the Toxicity <br />also analyzed for <br />he following pages. <br />
