• pumping. Well FCM#2 well levels showed a slight decline during 1996 and were mirrored by similar readings <br />from well 95M001. These wells aze in very close proximity to each other (see Figure 2). <br />Five measured parameters at well 001-83-106 returned values outside of previously established ranges during <br />1996, however, none are believed to evidence mine related impacts. Specifically, new maximum values were <br />noted in September for bicarbonate, total alkalinity, lab conductivity, nitrate, and SAR. As previously noted, an <br />elevated pH reading was recorded in December for well 001-83-107. TCC will continue to monitor this <br />occurrence. Water quality sample results obtained from well 95M001 are presented in Table 15. The 1996 pH <br />readings are noted to be relatively high at this site also. Other monitored parameters appear to vary somewhat <br />from May to September but are noted to lie within the ranges established for we11001-83-106 with the exceptions <br />of molybdenum, sodium, bicarbonate, total alkalinity, lab conductivity, total dissolved solids, SAR and sulfate. <br />An overall improvement in water quality is evident in September, Water quality sample results obtained from <br />well FBR-2-E are presented in Table 16. High pH readings appear typical for this well also. Water quality results <br />appeared to be more consistent at this well throughout the year as compared to well 95M001 with sodium the <br />predominate cation present and carbonate the predominate anion. <br />~ Fish-Creek-Sandsto_ne:, During ]996, two Fish Creek Sandstone wells (91M001 and 91M004) required <br />monitoring for water levels on a quarterly basis. An additional well (Ashley) required semi-annual monitoring for <br />. water levels and field parameters, and annual water quality sampling. Monitoring requirements were met during <br />the 1996 Water Year at these wells with the exception that the second water level and field parameter monitoring <br />instance at [he Ashley well was omitted due to the fact that the owners winterized their system and left the area <br />before data could be obtained. A water level was recorded from this site in December 199 (43.49') TCC will <br />work with the owners to ensure monitoring requirements are met during 1997. Tables 17, and 19 provide <br />summaries of the 1996 Water Year data collected at each site. Figure 32 provides graphical representation of the <br />period of record water levels measured at sites 91 M001 and 91 M004. During the 1996 Water Year, well 91 M001 <br />showed a decline in water level between September 1995 and March 1996. An increase followed during the <br />spring runoff period with a second decline noted between April and September 1996. A similar pattern was noted <br />at well 91M004, however, the declining periods were much less pronounced. Water levels at the Ashley well <br />were noted at approximately 47' below the established datum in March 1996. <br />A statistical summary of the water quality data generated for the Ashley well during 1996 is presented as Table <br />19a. The water is a sodium bicarbonate type with a TDS concentration of 560 mg/I. <br />ALLUVIAL GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br />Alluvial deposits containing groundwater are monitored in the Foidel Creek, Fish Creek, Trout Creek and Middle <br />Creek drainages.
