STERLING READY-MIX CONCRETE CO. ass
STERLING, COLORADO 80751
November 9 , 1994
RECEIVED
Mrs. Barbara Chiappone NOV 10 1994
Division of Minerals and Geology
Minerals Section
1313 Sherman Street Suite 215 Division of Mrne y
Denver, Colorado 80203-2273
Dear Mrs. Chiappone:
Re: Annual Report (110)
MLR No. M-86-147, Harley Pit I
FEDERAL TAX IDS 84-0614537
This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS
operated more than 180 days this year. The Financial Warranty for
this operation is $5000. 00, the permitted area is in Logan County,
covers 9 .99 ac. ± and the pit is not phased. As required in Rule
3 . 1. 12 the mine permit sign is at the entrance to the pit and the
boundary has been outlined with posts to delineate the affected
lands.
Reference is made to MLRB Rules and Regulations, Section 1. 15
2.4.1
(1) We continued to mine on the face opened when mining began.
The face continues to progress across the property from south
to north. We opened an additional 1. 14 acres ± this year
(green) . The floor of the pit covers approximately 4 . 11
acres. Please refer to the attached map for the areas
discussed in the report.
(2) No reclamation was required this year.
(3) We will continue to mine from east to west, stripping the area
before the face as we mine. If things go as we expect we may
disturb as much as 2 . 00 acres ± in the next year. The road
may have to be relocated farther west again this year.
(4) No reclamation is required until mining is complete. Rough
grading of the side slopes is completed as mining progresses.
The topsoil stockpiles along the sides of the pit have
overgrown with weeds so we do not have an erosion problem at
this time (brown) .
