Wells WOV14, 16, and 17 have all exhibited an increase in water levels
since 1996. Well WOV18 had exhibited a decrease in water levels in 1998
to 2000, but they are now slowly increasing. Well WOV14 started flowing
intermittently in 1998 and continuously in 2003. A pressure gage was
fitted to this well in 2004. Well WOV25 was drilled in September 2004.
Water levels observed this year at all wells fell within their historic
ranges.
- Wadge Coal. The six current Wadge coal wells monitored normally
exhibit the same typical seasonal variations as the previous aquifers
discussed. Due to low aquifer transmissivities (range 0.07 to 0.36
ft2/day), water sampling may mask normal water level fluctuations.
Wells Ww14 and 17 have exhibited an overall increase in water levels
since 1998. Water levels observed this year at Well WW14 were the
highest on record. Well WW18 has displayed a decrease in water levels
since 1998. Water levels observed this year at Well WW18 were the lowest
on record. water levels at wells WW3 and 17 fell within their historic
ranges. Well WW16 has been dry since August 2004. Well WW25 was drilled
in September 2004.
- Sage Creek Overburden. Well WSOV25 monitors this stratum in the south
area. This well was drilled in September 2004.
- Sage Creek Coal. well WSC25 monitors this seam in the south area.
This well was drilled in September 2004.
- Wolf Creek Overburden. Well WWCOV25 monitors this stratum in the
south area. This well was drilled in September 2004.
- wolf Creek Coal. Well WWC3 has exhibited a decrease in water levels
since 1997, but this year water levels are still within its historic
range. Water levels at Well WWC17 have been on the increase since 2000,
but this year water levels are still within its historic range. Well
WWC25 monitors this seam in the south area. This well was drilled in
September 2004.
4
