Mining Operations 70,000 gallons
Coal Preparation 573,000
Surface Facilities 648,000
Total Water Consumed ~
IF~ACTS
The total tonnage of TDS discharged into the Colorado River as mine discharge
during 1987 was 97 tons or 0.0056% of the total TDS at Station 455. The maximum
impact from mine discharge in 1987 occurred during the first week in October
1986. During that week, the average flow and conductivity at Station 955 was
3626 CFS and 413 ~unhos/cm. The 359.8 gpm discharged from the mine that week
would have increased the conductivity of the river by 0.20 µmhos/cm.
There was no detectable impact of this operation on Cottonwood or Rapid Creeks
this year and none is expected due to protective pillars under the creeks.
Diverting mine water to abandoned areas in Lhe mine reduced the impact on the
Colorado River. Cameo Mine discharge will resume in 1988 but discharge from
the Roadside Mine is not expected in 1988.

- 5 -
