They have been continuously
operated. No new quarries or pits have been opened and we do not anticipate opening
new areas. Over the past year we have removed approximately 21,000 tons of waste
material from our various quarries. This "waste" material was hauled to a centralized
storage area where it was screened into about six different sizes of sellable rock called rip
rap. The area in yellow on the enclosed map shows where this material is being stored.
These efforts have resulted in a safer and cleaner working environment within our
quarries.
Approximately 6,000 tons of this screened material consisted of smaller rock and dirt.
We have utilized this dirt to cover several hundred yards of hillside along County Road
27. About 32,000 square Feet of this area was re-seeded. Please see the attached sheet
from CDI for a breakdown. The area in green on the enclosed map shows approximately
where this re-seeding has been completed. Photos are also enclosed.
The removal of this waste material will continue into next year as will the re-seeding
efforts. If you have any questions regarding the above or enclosed materials, please do
not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
~~ ~ .
Judy Sprague ~
Owner & CEO
