TH75~A (+2.5') and Mahogany well IRI-11 (0') changed insignificantly. B-Groove well IRI-
10 (+14.9') changed significantly with increasing WL, and returned to similar level from
1994 -1995.
Perched aquifer, regional wells IRI-PW-2 (+0.3') and IRI-3 (+0.3') indicated a slight
increase in WL and similar to project wells, no significant trend was established.
6.1.6 Waste and Process Ponds
The pond leakage has been pumped back to the ponds and monitored since late 1991.
The ponds at the WRN site have a secondary liner which collects and directs the leakage
• to the leak detection tube for removal. Weekly collection and removal of leachate
continued in 1998. Monitoring of pond leakage in the past indicated an increase when
there are cold nights and warm days. This may be when maximum constriction and
expansion of liner increases leakage. Table 6-17 summarizes leachate removal from lined
ponds, and pond levels for 1997-1998.
In summary, no significant change from historical data was noted in pond leachate rates in
1998, although the pond levels remained high.

82
