Data on the Dissolution Surface well continues to reflect mixture of water with TDS of 9670
mg/I and conductivity 12,200 umhos/cm during May, 1998, which indicated a trend towards
more characteristic Dissolution Surface aquifer water quality. The B-Groove data indicated
moderate TDS (900 mg/I), conductivity (1370 umhos/cm), and high fluoride (25 mg/I) as of
May 1998, and is characteristic of aquifers found at other monitoring locations. The most
recent well, IRI-5 was approved in 1995 for use as Perched aquifer at the maxi pad
because it is more characteristic (than IRI-8) of the Perched aquifers at other sites with a
conductivity of 979 umhos/cm and fluoride of 0.2 mg/I in May of 1998. However, the A-
Groove continues to indicate affects of commingling, with a conductivity of 1590 umhos/cm
and fluoride of 7 mg/I in May of 1998. No water quality effects are evident from mining
• activity other than recompletion action.
Water level data collection began in February, 1991 (initial reading) except for the most
recent well IRI-5 (June, 1991). Figure 6-10 indicates period of record for wells at the maxi-
pad. The following table summarized potentiometric water level data (from ground surface)
for remote monitoring wells down-dip of mining activity:
A uifer Well = Initial Sept. Nov. Dec. Nov.
