Dedicated Monitoring Wells Up-Gradient
Wells established to monitor up-gradient conditions are:
Wells Aquifer
IRI-1 Perched
90-2 Dissolution Surtace
90-3 B-Groove
90-4 A-Groove
The up-gradient wells were completed with water quality samplers in July, 1990 and may
show residual effects of prior completion problems from 1980-1990. Water quality results
indicate Dissolution Surface (90-2) and B-Groove (90-3) data similar to historical data for
WRN. The WQ for the A-Groove (90-4) well reflects a mixture of water from deeper
• aquifers. The initial WQ of the Perched well IRI-1 was effected by completion activity but
has trended toward concentrations similar to the down-dip well 89-3 (see Figure 6-8).
Tables 6~, 6-7, 6-8, and 6-9 present historical summary of water quality data through the
1998 water year. No significant water quality changes were noted during 1998 to indicate
mining effects.
Pressure transducers were installed in November, 1990 with data acquisition unit on line in
February, 1991 for WL monitoring. An obstruction in IRI-1 limited water level data until late
in 1992. Water level data for period of record shown on Figure 6-9, indicate modest
pumpage effect on the A and B-Grooves.

55
