Approximately 1.1 acres were backfilled in the central quarry area on the west-facing beaches. :3. Backfilled 5.6 Acres (Central quarry area - first, second, and third benches) Revegetated 5.0 Acres (Central quarry area - first, second, and third benches) Revegetated 18.0 Acres (North quarry area - five benches) 4. The species of vegetation planted, the locations and approximate dates of planting? No vegetation was pleated is any area during this report year. !i. The type and approximate quantity of fertilizers, organic material, or soil conditioners used and location of use? No fertilizers, organic material, or soil conditioners were used in any areas during this report year. ~5. An appraisal of the success of reclamation efforts and in the event of failure of any efforts, a short narrative on the suspected or determined causes of such failure: Areas previously revegetated in the north quarry area with permanent vegetation have been self-sustaining for approximately five years with excellent coverage by the vegetation. Areas in the central quarry area continue to show very good and self-sustaining growth oa the first and second benches. Overseeding of bare areas and directly onto soiled portions of the highwallsshowed moderate to good success in the spring of~1990.
