1 Bluestone and Section 16 Wildlife Issues Report Western Aggregates, Inc <br />' Run-of-mine pit material would first be hauled by truck to the processing facility. Oversized <br />material (> 18 in. boulders) would be scalped off by a flat grizzly and stockpiled for sale. <br />' The primary jaw crusher would reduce the gravel and feed the first scrubber, which is a <br />rotating water-filled drum that imparts a grinding and scrubbing action to the gravel slurry. <br />' Clay and dirt are disintegrated and directed to the settling pond, while the coarse gravel is <br />conveyed to the secondary crushing, screening, and washing circuit. After re-scrubbing, the <br />gravel undergoes final sizing, screening, and washing, and is stockpiled according to customer <br />' requirements. <br />t 2.1.5 MINE PHASING <br /> The new land to be added to the eldsting permit has been divide d into 6 phases, depicting <br />' the advance of mining from the existing mine to the east and then north. It contains <br />640 acres. The surface and mineral rights are owned by the State of Colorado Land Board. <br />The State has ]eased the minerals to Western Aggregates, Inc. The State has also leased <br />' a number of rights-of-way throughout the property to various parties for utilities, railroad <br />trackage:, and water storage purposes.
