Minimizatio
n of disturbance The disturbance to the hydrologic balance within and adjacent to the permit area caused by
to the hydrologic CDMG regulation mining and reclamation at the Foidel Creek Mine is the minimum that can be expected
balance within 4.OS.1(1) yeS from an underground mining operation at this location. Use of best management practices
and adjacent to indicates minimization of disturbance to the hydrologic balance.
the ermit area
Surjuce water - No mine water was discharged at site 11 S this water year. In the past,
mine pumping into Fish Creek at site 11 S increased electroconductivity (EC) in
the creek by about 700 µmhos/cm, causing Fish Creek to occasionally reach the
1 S00 µmhos/cm material damage suspect level for irrigation water in the Fish
Creek alluvial valley floor (A VF). The pumping also caused Trout Creek, below
Q. Prevention Fish Creek, to occasionally reach the 1000 µmhos/cm material damage suspect
of material level for ircigation water in the Trout Creek AVF. The high EC levels on Fish and
damage to the CDMG regulation Trout Creek probably are too infrequent to cause a 3% reduction in a farm's
hydrologic 4.OS.1(1) yeS production (the material damage threshold). During most of the summer the EC
balance outside level in those streams is much less than the material damage level .The report's
the permit area graph of Trout Creek's TDS below all mining (site 1005) shows there is no
apparent upward Tong-term trend in TDS. Foidel Creek frequently exceeds the
2000 µmhos/cm below the mine, but premining data indicates this is a natural
occurrence.
Ground water - No material dame a has occurced as discussed in item N above.
R.
