Identification, Classification and Standards <br />1. Identification: Discharge is to Tuttle Draw, which is tributary to <br />the San Miguel River, segment 5 of the San Miguel River Basin. <br />2. Classification: This stream segment is classified for the <br />following uses: Recreation, Class 2; Aquatic Life, Class 1 (Warm). <br />3. Numeric Standards: The standards which have been assigned in <br />accordance with the above classifications can be found in 3.5.0, <br />Classifications and Numeric Standards for the Gunnison and Lower <br />Dolores River Basin (5 CCR 1002-8). <br />B. Receiving Water Data <br />1. Stream Low Flow: The flows which can be used to calculate effluent <br />limitations are acute flows, those that occur for one day every <br />three years (lE3), or chronic, those that occur far thirty days <br />every three years (30E3). These flows have been determined by the <br />Water Quality Control Division and are as follows: <br />~ ~ <br />For the San Miguel River above Tuttle Draw: <br />Acute (1-day, 3year flow) 2.5 cfs <br />Chronic (30-day, 3-year flow) 8.5 cfs <br />For Tuttle Draw: <br />Acute C1-day, 3-year flow) = zero <br />Chronic C30-day, 3year flow) zero <br />IV. FACILITY DESCRIPTION <br />A. Purpose of Amendment <br />By letter of October 16, 1989, the permittee has requested an <br />amendment to their permit. The amendment is to change the status of <br />discharge point 006 from active wining to post mining. The active <br />mining area located in the watershed above the 006 pond has been <br />backfilled and regraded. There will be ^o active mining-related <br />discharge from 006; any discharge shall consist solely of runoff. <br />Therefore, the permit limits snd monitoring requirements for 006 shall <br />be changed to [hose applicable to post~ining, as are currently <br />applied to discharge points 002, 003, 004 and 005. <br /> <br />
