FOOTNOTES - APPLICABLE TO PRECEDING PAGES <br />a/ - The thirty (30) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic: <br /> mean of all samples collected during a thirty (30) consecutive-d:ry <br /> period. Samples shall no[ be used for more: than one (1) reporting <br /> period. (Not applicable to fecal coliform determinations - plea:oe <br /> see footnote m/.) <br />b/ - I1xe seven (7) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic mean <br /> of all samples taken in a seven (7) day period. iamples may not be <br /> used for more than one (1) reporting period. (Not applicable to <br /> fecal coliform determinations - please see footnote m/.) <br />c1 - 'T'his limitation shall be determined by a single s,ample or set of <br /> samples as required by Part I.B., Sample Type. <br />d/ - ';dhen the measurement frequency indicated i~; quart~arly, the samples <br /> ,shall be collected during March, June, September ,and December, if a <br /> continual discharge occurs. If the discharge is :Lntermittent, then <br /> :samples shall be collected during the period that discharge occurs. <br /> :Cf the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors <br /> .any parameter more frequently than required. by th:Cs permit, then the <br /> :results of such monitoring shall be included in tfxe calculation and <br /> :-eporting of the values required in the Disicharge Monitoring Report s <br /> 1?orm or other forms as required by the Division. Such increased <br /> frequency shall also be indicated. <br />e/ - Definitions of Sample Type <br />:L. A "composite" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a minimum <br />of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced two (2) <br />hour intervals and proportioned according to 1:low. <br />'L. A "grab" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a single "dip <br />and take" sample. <br />:!. An "instantaneous" measurement, for monitorinf; requirements, is <br />a single reading, observation, or measurement performed on site. <br />4. A "continuous" measurement, for flow monitoring requirements, is <br />a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which <br />continually measures flow. <br />`i. ?, "visual" observation, for oil and grease monitoring <br />requirements, is observing the discharge to check for the <br />presence of a visible sheen or floating oil. <br />fi.
