Long
Division Dneuor
Re: 1996 Annual Hydrology Report; Blue Ribbon Mine; Permit No. C-81-407
The Division has reviewed the 1996 Annual Hydrology Report (AHR) for the Blue Ribbon
Mine. The operator did a good job at collecting and reporting the required monitoring data. The
frequency of data collection is incompliance with the approved monitoring plan contained in the
permit document.
No significant anomalies in water quality or water quantity data were noted based on a review of
the 1996 and previous AHRs. Water-level data taken from on-site piezometers continue to show
lazge fluctuations in groundwater levels throughout the yeaz. As with the 1995 AHR, the data
indicate higher values for conductivity in samples taken from the South Underdrain as opposed
to samples collected from the North Underdrain. From the data presented, there does not appeaz
to be a significant difference in water quality between the Upper and Lower Hubbard Creek
sample stations.
The report is acceptable as submitted. No further response is required.
If you have any questions please call me.
Sincerely,
~~ o ~~~
Michael P.
