' Energy Fuels Coal, Inc.
. Southfield Mine
1993 ANNUAL HYDROLOGY REPORT
Introduction
The 1993 Annual Hydrology Report (AHR) presents summarized hydrologic monitoring
data gathered at the Southfield Mine during the reporting year July 1, 1993 through June 30,
1994. In addition, discussion and comparison of these data with previous reporting periods are
incorporated within the report. The AHR is prepared and submitted as required by Stipulation
No. 6 of the permit application.
Energy Fuels Coal, Inc ("EFCI") operates the Southfield Mine located 8 miles south of
Florence, Colorado as shown on Figure 1. Coal is produced by underground room and pillar
mining methods and all mine production is 'washed' by a heary media coal preparation plant.
The mine and associated facilities were in active operating status for the period of this report.
Monitoring data and information use for the AHR were collected in compliance with the
approved monitoring programs. In addition, data collected by the previous operator, Dorchester
Coal Company (1979-1985) is presented. Essential monitoring data collected and presented in this
• AHR includes: quantity and quality of mine inflows; quantity and quality of discharges to
streams; groundwater quality and levels; and stream flow quantity and quality.
