WtLLIRMS FORK COMPRNY
CERTIFIED P764980329
Mr. Fred Banta
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
215 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Fred:
October 18, 1988
r, qr.. i. , r ~ • , ~ ~.
G C I N ~~ 1988
Subject: Annual Sand and Gravel Operation for 1987-88.
Pezmit No. M-84-168.
Enclosed is our 1987-88 Sand and Gravel Operation map and annual fee payment
($350). The Williams Fork Company intends to continue mining operations into
1989. Following is a brief discussion of our 1988 mining activity. The map
shows the approximate location and number of acres which have been actively mined
(5.6 acres) and/or partially disturbed (4.4 acres) through October 14, 1988. The
disturbed acres include topsoil stripped areas and associated vehicle traffic
areas. At the current time, the proposed mining limits should not change through
August of 1989. If however, additional sand and gravel needs are required in
1989, the proposed stripping limits may include the remainder of stripping area
number 2 as shown on Exhibit C-Map.
No additional acres have been reclaimed. The .43-acre area reclaimed and re-
seeded (see Table E-3 permit) in August of 1986 has been evaluated and determined
successful to date as considerable targeted perennial vegetation exists.
The following perennial plant species make up the majority of the vegetation
covey on this site:
Sedge (Carex spp)
Western Wheatgrass (A rooyron smithii)
Crested Wheatgrass (Agropyron cristatum)
Basin Wild rye (Elvmus cinereus)
Kentucky Bluegrass (Poa uratensis)
Western Yarrow (Achillea millefolivm)
Basin Big Sagebrush (Artemesia tridentata)
Silver Sagebrush (Artemesia Cana)
The cover percentage for this reclaim site is approximately 45 percent.
P.0.
