Hydrology Report ~ 7
4.0 MINE AREA ALLUVIAL GROUND WATER
Water level measurements were to be collected from alluvia] well AO-2 on a monthly basis
during the year and water samples taken in April and October. No sample could be collected
because the well waz dry. Rerr has committed to replacing Well AO-2 prior to the April 1993
sampling.
The mean field parameter values and analyses parameter values for pazt years are presen[ed in
Table 4, Historic Mine Area Alluvial Water Quality Data.
Comparison of values over the pazt years shows that alluvial ground water demonstrates much
more variability than coal aquifer and overburden ground water, however no definite trends are
evident. The variability in water quality parameters is influenced directly by seasonal and year-
to-year variations in precipitation, and the variation from year to year in the number of samples
collected. In 1992 az in 1991, low water levels resulted in no samples collected.
~voaK~rrt7~xean~ ~ wrtnn.arr
Vaivr v.m ACZ /nr. • P.O.
