C-81-044: 1998 ANNUAL HYDROLOGY REPORT
Dear Mr. Walker:
Please find enclosed duplicate copies of the 1996 Annual Hydrology Report for Cyprus Empire
Corporation's Eagle No. 5 and No. 6 mines. Figures 2, 11, 12, and 20 are not available at this time and
will be submitted as soon as possible under separate cover. These figures reside on the Autocad system
at the Empire mine and scheduling conflicts have to date not allowed the drafting technician to access this
system in order to revise these figures for the 1996 AHR.
In responding to questions pertaining to the 1995 Annual Hydrology Report, Mr. James G. Nalven of
James G. Nalven Consulting identified a data set for the No. 9 Mine well which contained water quality
constituent values markedly atypical as compared to other samples and analyses collected from this site.
This data was determined to have been erroneously associated with the No. 9 Mina well. For the 1996
Annual Hydrology Report, this data set has been deleted from the database and is not included in the
historical statistical summary provided. The enclosed Table A details the information which has been
deleted from the database.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Please contact me at (970) 870-2730 if you have any
questions or require additional information.
CYPRUS EMPIRE CORPORATION
~~~ r~~-
Karl C.
