LOnR
Division Director
Enclosed is a modification notice to NOV C-97-016 which is being
issued to include additional refuse area ditch locations which we
determined did not comply with approved designs, based on
measurements taken during the joint OSM/DMG "special focus"
inspection in August, and subsequent SEDCAD evaluation. Also
enclosed is an addendum to the August 29 special focus inspection
report, and supporting documentation.
Note that the NOV modification includes certain ditch segments
which did not comply with approved designs, but which SEDCAD
evaluation indicates would pass the 100-year/24-hour storm event.
For Such ditch segments which have historically functioned well,
with minimal maintenance, modification of permit-designs to more
accurately reflect as-built ditches would be an appropriate
alternative to field modification of ditches. The December 1
abatement deadline should allow sufficient time for submittal of a
technical revision addressing such design changes.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincer y~
Dan Mat ew
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Larry Routten, DMG Denver
