natural large concentrations observed in 2nd White Sandstone well P-5. Concentrations are expected
to decline in the future if the increase is due to upgradient mining.
Figure B-7 presents TDS values for 2nd White Sandstone well P-5 and shows that the
concentration were in the 2500 to 3000 mg/1 range prior to mining in this area. Water quality for this
well has not been collected due to it being dry or neazly dry. Natural water-quality concentrations in
the 1st, 2nd and 3rd White Sandstones aze expected to vary over a similar range. Figure B-7 also
presents 2nd and 3rd White Sandstone well GE-3 and 1st White Sandstone well GLIJX-1, which
consists of low TDS water.
Figure B-8 presents the TDS concentrations versus time for alluvial wells GC-3, P-1, J-I and
COY. Lewis Shale well P-3 is also included in this plot due to its response to the Pyeatt alluvial
system. TDS concentrations in Pyeatt alluvial well P-1 have been overall steady the last few yeazs.
These variations are within the historical natural range. •
The alluvial ground water in Johnson Gulch had shown an increasing trend in TDS since
1996 with the values from the last few years fairly steady. The recent Johnson Gulch alluvial ground
water is still within the natural range for TDS in this aquifer. These TDS values and variations aze
very similaz to the natural values and variations observed in Flume Gulch alluvial well, COY.
Flume Gulch has two alluvial monitoring wells, GC-3 and COY. TDS concentrations have
been fairly steady in well GC-3 with a small overall increase during the last two yeazs. The 2005
TDS concentrations in the COY well slightly decreased. The TDS concentrations in the COY well
and historical variations in well P-1 show that the Johnson alluvial TDS concentrations aze within
natural alluvial concentrations in the alluvial aquifers in this area.
Trapper Mining Company 3-4 •
2005 Annual Report
