This <br />report covers the time period between April 2001 and April 2002. <br />Reportable Conditions: <br />Amendment No. 8 site preparation and development activities continued in the Main Cresson and East <br />Cresson Mine areas, Phase IV of the Valley Leach Facility ("VLF'), and the new crusher area. The bulk <br />emulsion facility and the mine truck shop were completed during the year. Amendment No. 8 activities <br />will continue throughout 2002 and beyond. <br />CCBV implemented reclamation techniques on approximately 65 acres of land during the reporting <br />period. The acreage consisted of underground development rock removal areas, highway 67 realignment <br />and related disturbances within the permit boundary, Enhanced Management Practice storm water <br />structures, approximately 20 acres of topsoil stockpiles, and miscellaneous reclamation along new roads <br />and construction sites. Approximately 8 acres of previously reported reclaimed acres were impacted by <br />construction activities. <br />Seed was collected from Bristlecone pine (Pious aristata) species in the area during the fall of 1999. <br />These seeds were grown in a contract greenhouse for planting in future years. 2,500 Bristlecone and 500 <br />Aspen seedlings were planted on the 1992 and 1996 reclamation areas in the fall of 2001. <br />Per the requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-116(3), and C.R.S. 34.32.5-116(3)(a): <br />Reclamation accomplished to date: Approximately 178 acres <br />Reclamation accomplished during the preceding year: Approximately 65 acres <br />New disturbances anticipated during the upcoming year. Continued construction of Phase IV of the <br />VLF; construction of the crushing facility, continued development of the Main Cresson and Fast <br />Cresson Mine areas and associated haulroads, sediment control measures, topsoil stockpiles, <br />
