Lafarge West, Inc. Howe Pit
Bull Seep 2002 Reclamation Report
("PLS") application rates are provided on Table 3. Seed was applied in a hand
broadcast application at a rate of 30 PLS per square foot on May 30. Due to the
fluffy condition of the seedbed and presence of surface litter, surface mulching
with native hay or hydromulch was not considered necessary. Seed tags for the
applied upland seedmix are contained in Appendix A.
Upland Temporary Seeding
Due to extremely dry soil conditions in May, seeding activities were delayed
until the end of October. Broadcast seeding of the temporary upland species mix
was performed on a flat area adjacent to the access road with the mixture shown
on Table 4. The temporary upland seed mix was applied on approximately 2.9
acres (Exhibit 1). A temporary stabilization mix was used due to the potential
disturbance that may occur along the access road. Seed tags for the applied
upland seedmix are contained in Appendix A.
HaUitat Management, Inc. 7 03/27/03
