• Revegetation Monitoring
Revegetadon monitoring of permanently revegetated areas was conducted during the summer of
2006 by ESCO Associates, Inc. The 2006 Annual Revegetation Monitoring report is submitted as
a separate document
• Grazing
Cattle (600 long yearlings) were moved on to the Seneca II redairned area between July 25~ and
August ]6+s. All cattle were moved off the Seneca II Mine area between Septembu 18~ and
September 22°d 2006. See attached 2005 Grazing Plan Map for pasture locations.
This grazing scheme resulted in a total of 480 AUM's for 2006.
30 daps (x) 600 head = 18,000 animal days (/) 30 days = 600 animal months (x) 0.8
AUM/animal = 480 AUM's
Total = 480 AUM's
Arrumptionr. 1 laugyearling = 0.8 AUM, requiring 648 pounds of forage per month. (One AUM reguinr
810 poundr °f forage).
The AUM usage is calculated using the following assumptions:
Arrumptiour
. In accordance with Rule 4.05.6(11)(c), SCC visually
inspects each pond a minimum of quarterly each yeaz. During these inspections, any drastic change
in sedimentation storage or sudden increase in a sediment delta at the inlet to the pond would be
detected which could require mitigation.
Based on the 2006 survey, all sediment ponds have sufficient sediment storage. Additionally, all
• ponds have been discharging in compliance with the approved NPDES permit effluent limitations.
4
