Dillies - - -
The following summarizes monitoring and site activities at the Battle Mountain Resources
Inc., San Luis Project for the month of April 2002.
Surface and ground water monitoring of all required monitoring sites were completed
during the month. All surface water stations were inspected and recorded daily, these daily
recordings identified readings at RS-1, RS-2, RS-3 and RS-5 of zero (0) inches and RS-4
and RS-6 were dry.
Vacuum on"the tailing lysimeters was verified during the month and no water was present
for"sampling and subsequent analysis.
Depths to water were collected for the tailing impoundment main embankment and the
west pit piezometers/monitoring wells. The Apri129`h tailing impoundment piezometer
measurements identified these installations were either dry or contained less than 12 inches
of water. Table 1 below identifies the depth to water measurements collected for each of
the site monitoring wells and piezometers.
The tailing impoundment collection"pond "underdrain flow and'leak detection systems were -
measured on April 30`x`. The collection pond underdrain flow was approximately 45 gpm
and a total of 1,460 gallons of water was evacuated from the leak detection system yielding
a monthly average of 49 gpad.
The West Pit water treatment plant operated effectively discharging a total of 9,636,500
gallons of water (29.58-acre feet) to Rito Seco Creek during the month, a total of 865,200
gallons (2.65 acre-feet) of water was transferred from the water treatment plant to the
tailing impoundment during the month, and seepage along Rito Seco Creek remained dry
throughout the month. ~ '
P.O.
