• MASS BALANCE EVALUATION
CEC disposed of 51,158 tons (measured) of mixed fly ash and bottom ash, obtained
from the Coors Brewing Company/Trigen Colorado Energy Corporation facility (see
Ash Disposal Data) in the south end of B-Pit and in A-Pit using approximately 14,000
bank cubic yards ~ (BCY) of overburden material to cover the disposal areas locally,
and to control dust and fugitive debris in the immediate areas of the pits. Again,
relatively small amounts of overburden materials were excavated from the long-term
spoil area. Approximately 50,000 BCY of topsand was moved to complete the
reclamation of a portion of the A-Pit haul road in order that this area could
accommodate seeding activity.
Remaining B-Pit Airspace Volume 1,801,500 BCY
(to proposed final reclamation contours)
Remaining A-Pit Airspace Volume 169,200 BCY
(to proposed final reclamation contours)
• Excess Long-term Spoil Remaining On Site 353,000 BCY
Topsand Stockpiled On Site 470,000 BCY
A noted variation in the A-Pit airspace volumes (1994 to 1996 AHR
reports) results from the use of the 1986 reclamation plan to compute the
1994 airspace volume, whereas the 1996 calculation relies on the
currently-suggested plans for final reclamation contour and drainage
plan configurations.
cubic yards in-place
AFiR-1996 -121- Stipulation # l 7
