• 6.4 Safety and Security <br />6.4.1 Safeiv Program <br />The main features of the safety program are: <br />a. A physical exam (inGuding audiology and respiratory testing) <br />b. Issuance of a safety policy manual upon employment <br />c. Anew hire safety indoctrination <br />d. Safety training at least monthly <br />e. Inspections of fire exfinguishers, e>at lights, and fire suppressions systems <br />f. Safety incentive awards <br />6.4.2 Securi <br />• Security at the plant has not proven to be a problem. The site is in a remote location, fenced, <br />and the plant is manned by employee's 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. Signs are posted <br />to inform visitors that the plant site is a restricted area. Access across the mine site during <br />hunting season is a seasonal problem. Alternative access routes are available for hunters to <br />utilize. In 2001 the BLM initiated action to close the mine site roads to the public for safety <br />reasons. <br />. 97 <br />
