PN: D96049MT
August 2, 1996
Page 2
Our analysis of the slope stability included an infinite slope
analysis of the material which is proposed for placement on the
sandstone. The results of our analysis are presented on Figure 1.
we analyzed the forces for the system for the material at several
soil mantle thicknesses. The slope theoretical factor of safety
ranged from about 1.8 to about 1.1 with the thickness ranging from
about two (2) to about eight (8) feet for the case without
accumulating water. In our analysis we assumed that the material
will not become saturated during the life of the slope. Due to the
relatively thin proposed thickness of the material we anticipate
that the soil may become saturated. If the soil becomes saturated
our analysis indicates that the driving forces will be greater than
the resisting forces and movement of the slope soil mass is
imminent.
If you have any questions, or if we may be of additional service,
please contact us.
ctf submitted, Reviewed,
R ASSOCIAT S
/ ` -
2
L.Tr tner, P.E.
