Additional Sheet
1'ikeview Quarry 1995-1996 Annual Report
May 27, 1996
included with this report are two maps. Map 1 shows the status of the operation with
respect to the information required in an annual report. Map 2 shows the locations of Enhanced
Reclamation work. The distinction between Base and Enhanced Reclamation is described in
detail in the permit. Basically, Enhanced Reclamation is a publicly funded reclamation
program that addresses visual impact mitigation. The Base Reclamation is that reclamation
performed by Castle Concrete to comply with the permitted plans.
Map 1
This map shows the various features within the quarry itself. Permitted lands east of the
eastern edge of the map are not shown on the map this year because there were no changes in
that area of sufficient significance to show on a map. Therefore, for the eastern portions of the
permit please refer to last year's map.
Various categories and classes of land are shown on this map. Please note that although
the shading for Affected Land is different from other shades and patterns, all land that is
shaded or indicated with a fill pattern is, in fact, affected land. Except for a small piece of land
south of the New Powder Storage Area, the affected land at this operation has essentially
reached its maximum extent. Future expansion of this operation will probably amount to no
more than about 3 or 4 acres and all of that will be around the southern edge of the affected
land and mostly in locations that will have minimal visual impact.
Following is an inventory of the acreage of the various parcels of land shown on this
map.
Map Category Acreage
Total Affected Land (this map only) 107.6
1995/96 Reclamation 0.36
Actual Extraction (2 Mining areas) 8.5
Powder Storage area 0.3
Other Reclaimed Land 11.3
Topsoil Stockpiles 2.7
Annual Report Pikeview Quarry 95196 M-77-21 ~ Page 1
