• ~-
HENDRICKS MINING CO./CROSS MINE REPORT
January 1, 1990 - November 1, 1990
The Cross Gold Mine remained under an exploration phase for the
first nine months of 1990. A total of 3000' of underground core
drilling and 4500' of surface core drilling took place. Surface
core sites were fully reclaimed immediately upon completion of
drilling. Extensive geological work took place, including
surface and underground mapping, generating rrew section maps from
previous and current drill data, and digitalizing sig, aificant
amounts of historic mine data onto floppy discs.
The mine was dewatered from Level One to Level Four and continued
improvements were made to the water discharge envirorrmental
system. Anew one torr skip was installed which included hoisting
and wirize modifications. A new 20'x20' core station #A was
excavated on the Fourth Level followed by 65' of 7'x7' develop-
ment drifting on the Fourth Level West Rare Metals Vein. Low
grade development ore from this drift was stockpiled on surface.
Thirty-seven feet of 7'x7' track drift was driven on the Tunnel
Level Apache Vein followed by 40' of 5'x8' raise and 64' of 4'x7'
sublevel drifting. Approximately 400 tons of development ore was
mined from this work and shipped to the Boulder Mill in August
and placed in stockpile.
The Company ran a mill test at the Boulder Mill between February
and March on 350 tons of development ore from Tunnel Level
Apache work completed during the fall of 1989. Approximately
11.324 dry tons of concentrate was shipped to the Cominco Smelter
in Trail, British Columbia in May which contained 42.0'i oz Au,
2,076 oz. Ag, 12.48 Pb, 15.08 Zri and 1.558 Cu.
Annual assessment work on the Company's unpatented claims took
place in the vicinity of the upper Boulder County workings. A
new plan map was completed and numerous assays were taken from
vein outcrops, trenches and glory holes. In Septemk~er, the
Company completed a 220' core hole approximately 1500' east of
the Cross Mine under the Homestead Lode and the portal was
reopened, timbered and the adit was fully secured for access.
Mapping and sampling was completed on this vein system. Oper-
ations were then temporarily suspended and the Cross Mine was
placed on a full maintenance closure basis while mine financing
negotiations continued. An exploration/development program is
expected to re-commence by January 5, 1991.
-90
