5 ~~ ~ -
EXHIBIT G: idATER INFORMATION
• The operation and final reclamation of the Chambers Pit
is expected to have little affect on surface or ground
water systems in the area. The Colorado River borders
the property, but the affected land itself contains no
tributary water source, wells, springs, stockcaater ponds,
reservoirs, ditches or kno~,m aquifers.
As is indicated in the Soil Conservation Service Report
groundwater is found at a depth of 2' - 4' and dewatering
efforts will be required during all operations in the pit
(NPDES Permit Number: CO-0036579 follows). [dater pumped
into the Colorado River during this process will be cleaner
• than the river water itself and can only serve to improve
it.
Runoff waters from and thru operations and stockpile areas ,,. ~
II~ O N
will drain into the excavated mine. There are no operationsl~ ~, '~,
that will have any adverse affect on these runoff waters ,.
so pollution in this manner will not be a problem.
Water requirements of the mining operation will be minimal.
Our only use for water will be an effort to control any
dust pollution. But, since the material mined is below
groundwater and, therefore, pre-wetted, requirements in this
regard are expected to be virtually non-existant. Water that
