ermittee Name: ~ert Frei and Sons, Inc. ~ Page 2
Permit No: M-77-153
Operation Name: Hazeltine Pit,
' Anniversary Date: 02 107 195
(2 cont)
is approximately 75.7$ of all the underwater sloping neces-
sary. There are 5.30 acres ± of road that will need no
reclamation. Reclamation is complete on a section of above
water slopes in the northwest part of the operation (green).
We cover seeded the topsoil piles and surrounding areas in the
southeast part of the permit area (pink). The marginal growth
of the grasses seeded in this area was partially caused by the
drought conditions the state has experienced in the last
couple of years. We will continue to monitor the seeded area
doing remedial work as necessary. Approximately 40 Honey
Locust trees and Cottonwood trees were planted along the east
property line this year. The large lake continues to be used
as a practice area for water skiers.
The reclamation done to date has been successful. The
completed stabilization work done along the north lake shore
appears to be working. As an added benefit it has improved
the fish habitat in the lake.
(3) Mining will continue as approved in the plan along the north
central part of the pit. We estimate we have two more years
in this area to remove the material left.
(4) We will continue to work on the bank sloping and grading as
the year progresses. We will begin to cover the stabilized
area with growth medium (dark green). We will continue the
work on the spectator areas and parking area between the two
lakes. We will be seeding the graded area on the south side
of the lake and continue to monitor the seeded area in the
southeast.
(5) The current contaj-for this pit is:
Mr. AlheK R.
