water quality changes over time. Key parameters to look for are T.D.S., Specific conductance (EC
adjusted to 25 degrees C, and water level.
The 1992 data in table 2 represents only one well 79-61; but, in past years, wells 79-27, 32, 26 and
61 were averaged. Comparisons of this single wells data with previous year's data of several well
averages have minimal usefulness.
The graphs below are examples of graphical representation of data. The first graph compares
downgradient wells with each other and shows changes in electrical conductivity over time. The
second graph shows the effects of mining on water levels in the overburden wells. Well 79-1 is south
and adjacent to the 720 pit. Wells 79-2 and 79-3 are adjacent to backfilled areas of the mine.
Overburden Water Quality
EC downgradient of mnirg
7000 r-.__- _-.___-_ - ___._.._ _ ____ ......._. __ __...._.._ __ _ .......... _ _ .. _........ _ _ _ ......_. _
Ol
10/8111/81 4182 1482 4/831483 4/84 1484 4/8510/85 4/861018810/87 418810/88 4/891489 4190 10/9010/91 3/92 1x92 3/93
O.e~burden Wells
~ Well 79-1 ~ Well 79-2 ~ We11793
3
