Orchard Michael B.Long <br />Farmington, NM 87401 Division Director <br />Re: Orion Pit, File No. M-94-115, Receipt of Regular Operation 112 Reclamation <br />Permit Application <br />Dear Mr. Kinney: <br />On October 27, 1994, the Division of Minerals and Geology received your <br />application package for a Regular Operation 112 Reclamation Permit for the Orion <br />Pit, File No. M-94-115. Preliminary review determined that the following-items <br />must be submitted before technical review of your application can begin: <br />The maps submitted do not meet the requirements as specified in the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Rules and Regulations. The following <br />information will help you in preparing the Mine Plan and Reclamation <br />Plan Maps. <br />MAPS - General Requirements (RIILE 6.2.1(2): Mine Maps, except the index <br />map, must conform to the following criteria: <br />(a) show name of Applicant; <br />(b) must be prepared and signed by a registered land surveyor, <br />professional engineer, or other qualified person; <br />(c) give date prepared; <br />(d) identify and outline the area which corresponds with the application; <br />(e) be made to scale not larger than 1" 100' and not smaller than 1" <br />660', which shall be noted on each map; maps, not including the accurate <br />map of the affected lands designated in Section 34-32-112(a), C.R.S. 1973, <br />as amended, may be prepared at other scales as long as the scale is <br />appropriate so as to clearly show those elements that are being delineated; <br />and <br />(f) must have a title and legend (explanation) indicating the items <br />delineated on that particular map. <br />EY.HIBIT B - Index Mao: T'he maps submitted for Exhibit B do not clearly <br />indicate the location of the area to be permitted. An index map showing <br />the regional location of the affected land and all roads and other access <br />to the area. The topographic map submitted is not clear and the area to be <br />permitted is not indicated in the two-mile radius on the map. Please <br />submit a clearer map. Scale criteria need not be followed for this map. <br />00076 <br />
