Therefore, this report will cover operations for the
entire two-year period from February E, 1980 through February 6, 1982.
If you find that the report and fee for last year were filed, we
would appreciate the return of the overpayment.
Under separate cover we are submitting a Technical Revision to cover
the operating changes that have varied from the approved plan. No
changes in total lands or disturbed area have been made. This annual
report is based on the assumption that the Technical Revision will be
approved.
Reference is made to MLRB Rules and Regulations, Section 2.41. Please
consult the attached map for location of all acreage discussed.
2.41 (1) During this reporting period approximately 49.38E acres were
affected (see map for acres stripped and/or mined).
(2) Approximately 17.60E acres were reclaimed as lake area and
` 2.1t acres were reclaimed in revegetated area.
.~ `/ (3) Approximately 1.06E acres were backfilled and graded, 2.1E
acres were revegetated, and 6.2t acres are being graded.
(4) Along the north side of Stages 0 and P approximately 350
cottonwood trees and 50 honey locusts were planted. An area
of approximately 2. 1t acres was revegetated with the specified
grass seed mixture (Tall Wheatgrass 3.5#, Fairway Wheatgrass
3.5#, Smooth Bromegrass 3.0# and Alkali Sacaton 0.5#). All
planting occurred between April 1 and May 15, 1981. (See
attached map for area revegetated.)
(5) No soil additives were used.
(6) Tree plantings met with mixed success. The progress of the
cottonwoods was .only fair with some outright failures. The
honey locusts did better with a good start. At this time
growth of the grass mixture does not appear to have been
successful. However, a dense weed growth may be covering
any success that may have occurred during the very dry summer.
