RECEIVED <br />MAY D 8 20~ <br />Division of Minerals and Geola®y <br />ANNUAL REPORT <br />Operator United Companies of Mesa County <br />Location - - --- --~ - Colona Pit - __ - -- ___ ~__ ._ . _ _~-_ - __ -- <br />File Number M-1944-005 <br />Anniversary Date May 6, 2006 <br />Colona was active this report year. As in the past year this location served was used for <br />gravel mining, crushing, and stockpiling location. This material was either used on site at <br />the asphalt plant, hauled to other United locations, or sold to other contractors for their <br />needs. <br />The asphalt plant has been moved from this location. The office remodel is complete as <br />is the relocation of the truck scales. <br />Mining continues towards the south boundary of the permit area. Top soil and <br />overburden have been removed from what another area to be mined late summer of 06. <br />W eed management continues at this location on a twice a year basis. This location is in <br />good shape concerning weed management. <br />Modification of the berm along Iiwy 550 is scheduled for later this year.
