M1
Twin Pines No.
April 10, 1990
Page -4-
2 Mine
The lowest factor of safety found by this analysis, based on a
sliding block (wedge) failure method at a 2:1 slope, as shown on
the attached profile, was found to be 1.669. This is the nor-
mally used factor of safety of 1.50.
Further trials showed that the mine spoils slope will stand at a
slope of 1.5:1 (horizontal to vertical) at a factor of safety
slightly above 1.5. Due to the possibility of erosion on such a
slope, however, we recommend that the slope be maintained closer
to 2:1.
In our opinion, the proposed spoils slope can be safely placed at
a 2:1 (horizontal to vertical) slope on this site as shown on the
attached profile.
This opportunity to be of professional service to you is greatly
appreciated. If questions arise concerning this report, please
feel free to call the undersigned engineer at your convenience.
Respectfully submitted,
LINCOLN DeVORE, INC.
By:
GDM/lab
LD Job No.
Enclosures
cc: Falcon
Twin
Mo
72339
s,
- _ ~~ , .:.
y O` 'o~G~~S f Eqf.~ ;~~.P ~
' r Q57
'~ro~~~ J ~ •~
,P.'$. a `~
'4v to- ti it ~
_~* V~,fu et ~f','~
``1~~~~_F OF CC`~P
Enerqy, Inc., General Partner
Pines Investments, Ltd.
