Dept. of Natural Resources <br />Subsidence Monitoring network <br />Your File NC-044-81 <br />As per our conversation of Se{Member 11, l9Bl, Empire Energy will begin <br />placement of subsidence monuments for the 3rd east panel. The monuments <br />will be constructed as follows: 1) soil auner used to drill 4-inch <br />plus hole below frost line, 2) four inch PVC pipe (or similar type <br />pipe) placed in hole with 6 inches of pipe extending above ground, 3) <br />rebar driven into center of hole for twe feet or until refusal in <br />shallower soil (in areas vrith deeper softer soils rebar in excess of <br />two feet), 4) rebar will extend 3-6 inches above collar of PVC pipe, <br />and 5) monuments surveyed. I have attached a drawing of the monument. <br />It is my urider•standing that you approve of constructing the monuments as <br />per the above method.
