2) Structures
Monitored structures include the three Thompson Ranch
buildings, Newlin Creek stream channel, and Florence City water
line. quarterly monitoring detects ground movement that potentially
results from mining. Summarized monitoring data for the above
structures are presented on Table 2, Florence Water Line, and Table
3, Thompson Ranch Structures and Newlin Creek Point.
A review of the monitoring data for the Ranch Structures 'and
Newlin Creek Point show that no subsidence is occurring at the
monitored points. Accordingly, mining is not been active in the
vicinity of these structures since Energy Fuels acquired the
project in 1985.
Monuments along the Florence Water Line similarly show no
measurable subsidence except in those areas where retreat mining
has been completed. Those monuments showing potential subsidence
effects are Monuments D and E located on the west end of the mine
development. Of these, only Monument D is indicating minor
subsidence effects during the reporting period. Monument E exhibits
the greatest cumulative subsidence; 1.55 feet through the reporting
period. This value is approximately 56 percent of the maximum 2.79
feet as predicted in the permit application. There is no indication
that the measured subsidence has adversely effected operation of
the Florence Water Line. '
Structure monitoring indicates that none or only minor
subsidence has occurred at the monitored locations. Measured
subsidence through the reporting period is within predicted limits
presented in the permit application. Only minor additional
subsidence is expected to happen at the monitored structures.i
