• Although the three nesting territories are relatively close to each other, they all have <br />been occupied every year since 1996. That year, both the Section 3 and 13 pairs fledged <br />single young. All three pairs were observed incubating in April 1997; the number of young <br />that fledged that year was not determined. One pair had young and a second pair was still <br />incubating when they were checked in April 1998. Although fledging success was not <br />measured in the last three years, the continued occupation of the territories indicates that <br />eagles have not been affected by activities at the Seneca II Mine. <br />SANDHII.L CRANE ACTIVITY <br />A pair of sandhill cranes was seen walking and feeding io a wet grassy bottom in SW'/a <br />SE'/a Section 12, TSN, R87W of 29 April.
