We continued to mine in Stage 1 this year
working on an area disturbed in past years. This pit HAS NOT been
granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS operated more than 180
f
days this year. The Financial Warranty, as revised in 1994, for
I
this operation is $79,800, the permitted area is 170.70 ac. ± and
the pit is divided into 5 Reclamation Phases. As required in Rule
3.1.12 a sign has been installed at the entrance to the pit and the
i
boundary has been outlined to delineate the affected lands.
Please refer to the 1994-95 Annual Report Map; attached, for
locations of the areas discussed in this text. Welwill deal
specifically with the Annual Report requirements outlined in Rule
1.15 and the annual report form.
(1) Mining continued in the Stage 1 on area disturbed in previous
years. Stage 5 is still used as processing plant site and
contains gravel stockpiles, concrete casting beds and the
office facilities. Mining continued on 5.87 acres ± on the
western side of the property on an area previously disturbed
(cross-hatched). We have 15.50 acres ± of lake area (blue),
and 28.57 acres t stripped, ready for miningl(yellow). The
two topsoil stockpiles (brown) contain approximately 64,830
YD' and covers 2.03 acres ±. The pit is dewatered at this
time, so the floor of the lake area can be mined.
(2) No reclamation was required this year. However we completed
reconstructing an additional 5.25 acres ± ofdwetlands (dark
green) on the south side of the property, bringing the total
reconstructed wetland area to 7.27 acres ±. ~We completed
rough grading of the slopes along the west side on the area
mined this year and resoiled the bank slopes with 946 YD' of
