NORTHWEST COLORADO CONSULTANTS, INC.
Project: Refuse Pile
Location: Foidel Creek Mine
Client: Twentymile Coal Co.
Project No.: 99-3983
Report No.: 8
Date: 8/2102
Time: 4.0
Mileage: 50
EngrJTech: BDL
Work Performed:
As requested, we visited the project site on this date and conducted nuclear density test No.'s 220 through 224
on the material being placed in the refuse coal pile.
Twentymile Coal Company crews had scarified and re-compacted the processed waste coal in the failing areas in
Area 1 and Area 2 of the Refuse Pile. Is should be noted that no additional refuse material had been added since
our last visit on 6/26/02. We obtained a moisture sample at each test location and a bulk sample of the material
was obtained and delivered to our laboratory for checkpoint Proctor determination. The checkpoint matched
Proctor No. 3.
Remarks:
The material tested generally met project the project specifications for compaction. It should be noted that these
tests should be considered retests of the failing tests taken on 6/26/02.
We also observed that the waste coal materials were being stockpiled at the south end of Area #2 at the time of
our visit.
Please refer to the attached sheet for results of today's testing.
Verbal Discussions:
Dave Wallace was notified of today's test results.
