1_The proposed use of the prooerty
As approved in 1983 and later amended in 1984, the intended use for this property is
extraction and processing of sand and gravel and an asphalt mixing plant. Configuration and
order of phasing may be modified where necessary in order to facilitate changes required due
to protection and/or realignment of ditches through the site.
This amendment is intended to address the placement of several structures on site to better
facilitate our employees. These structures were referenced in the previous submittals and
approvals, but their locations were not specifically identified on the extraction map.
The structures include:
Construction Trailer/Employee Building - a 14x70 trailer leased from G.E. Capital for the
duranion of mining. The trailer will be used for employee lockers, restrooms, and lunchroom.
The installation of a septic tank was previously approved as Standard 12 in the original
approval and Standard 5 in the amended USR.
Scale House - a 10x44 trailer leased from G.B. Capital for the duration of mining. The
trailer will be used as a small office to print weigh tickets as the trucks move across the scale.
Standard 3 of the originally approved operation standazds references administrative offices
located on the property, which is what we would consider the scale house to be.
Storage Shed - a 20x40 metal building that will be used for storage of tools and other
equipment and parts that we need to keep out of the weather elements.
Fuel storage - a 6000 gal double walled fuel storage tank that is compartmentalized for 5000
gallons of diesel and 1000 gallons of gasoline. Fuel tanks were previously approved as
Standard 12 in the original approval and Standazd 5 in the amended USR, but specific size
and location were not included.
2_Consistent with the intent of the Weld County Comprehensive Plan
As previously stated, this property has been permitted for mining a mineral resource deposit
sincc; 1983. Our request to add the structures will not have any additional impact on adjacent
land uses and will remain consistent with the commercial and mineral resource deposit goals
and policies. The installation of these structures will comply with [he flood hazard
regulations. All of the structures will be removed after mining is completed.
3.
