This area
was seeded in September 1996 with the closure of the Golden Eagle mine. At the same time a more
substantial concrete seal was also placed over the shaft. The site was constructed prior to 1977, but may
have been used into the 1980's for ventilating the New Elk Mine. This acreage was also added to section
F), of the report. Also changed in section F). was the timing of seeding 1.35 acres of the non-coal waste
disposal area. This acreage was seeded in 1994 not 1996 as previously reported.
Acreage re-seeded for more than 10 years was reduced to zero (0) acres. Bond-released acreage for MR-21
Drilling Sites reclaimed in 1991 was erroneously included in this category.
A map of the Apache # 1 shafr area is also enclosed.
Thank you for your assistance in obtaining a more complete report of the timing of previous reclamation
activities at the Golden Eagle Mine.
Si erely,
Ronald G.
