WILLIAMS FORK MINtNIG COMPANY
October 20, 2004
Mr. Gregg Squire
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Squire:
RE: Annual Sand and Gravel 112 Report for 2003-04, and Notice of Intent to
Continue Mining Operations (Permit No. M-84-168)
Enclosed please find the Williams Fork Mining Company 2003-04 Sand and Gravel Operations
report form, map, and annual fee payment ($688). We intend to continue mining operations
into 2005. The enclosed revised Appendix C map illustrates the surveyed acreage that has been
reclaimed (29.43 acres, including 0.34 acres newly reclaimed in 2004) and the unreclaimed
acreage that has been mined (10.55 acres) or is simply associated disturbance (14.09 acres).
Topsoil salvaged ahead of pit advancement was either placed directly onto the area prepared for
permanent reclamation at a depth of approximately 18 inches or placed into a temporary
stockpile at the east edge of the topsoil strip advance. The topsoil in the temporary stockpile
will be used for permanent reclamation in 2005.
The projection for the 2004-OS report period (October 26, 2004 through October 25, 2005) is
for approximately 2.80 acres of new disturbance in Mine Areas 5 and 6. It is anticipated that
approximately 0.69 acres will be permanently reclaimed.
Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this report.
Sincerely,
`~~" l~'~
Forrest V.
