<br />1 <br />' Ms. Richael Michels <br />Lazimer County Planning Division <br />June 20, 1995 <br />Page 3 <br />6) The mining activity at the Wellington Downs site will not structurally weaken the Fossil <br />Creek Inlet Ditch. There is no excavation activity within 300 feet to the ditch. Sand and <br />gravel excavation does not create a significant amount of vibration to cause structural <br />damage, especially to objects located this faz away. <br /> 7) If necessary to control noxious weeds, Connell does not have a problem using chemicals. <br /> S) A plan to address noise and dust pollution complaints was submitted to Rich Grossman at <br />' the County Health Department (Attachment G). <br />' 9) A seazch of the State Engineers records shows that there is only one well within 600 feet of <br />the excavation azea. This well is an old gravel pit lake north of the Wellington Down site, <br /> operated by Western Mobile, Inc. <br />' Connell's mining plan was designed to limit the impact of dewatering to surrounding wells <br /> and ground water levels by the construction of an impermeable boundary azound the site in <br />' the eazly stages of mining. See Exhibit D for more information. <br /> A mitigation plan has been put together in the event that a well owner in the area is affected <br />' by the dewatering of this operation. The plan is stated in Exhibit G. <br /> 0) We aze in the process of obtaining the appropriate permits from the Colorado Department <br /> of Health.
