Connell uses licensed <br />tractor trailers to haul material off-site. The average payload weight of these trucks is azound <br />17 tons. <br />' Plau for DisposaUStorage of Overburden, Waste Material or Rubble <br />Topsoil and overburden will be stripped and stockpiled prior to the excavation of the sand <br />and gravel. This material will be used in the reclamation process. The average depth of <br />topsoil and overburden is 4.5 feet. See Exhibits C & D of the DMG permit for further <br />details. <br />' Frequency of Blasting <br />This operation does not require blasting to excavate [he sand and gravel. <br />' Proposed Time Schedule for Mining and Reclamation <br />Connell would like to start mining the Wellington Downs sand and gravel deposit in late fall <br />of 1995. The deposit will take eight to ten yeazs to mine and reclaim. See Exhibits C & D <br />of the DMG permit application report for more details. <br />Plans for Minimizing Dust and Noise Pollution <br />' Connell will maintain their current practices to control dust and noise pollution. <br />To minimize dust pollution, all roads and other exposed areas will be watered down as <br />needed using water trucks. Dust control will be regulated by a Colorado Air Pollution <br />Emission Notification Permit (APEN). Connell will be responsible for obtaining and <br />complying with guidelines set by this peanit. To minimize noise pollution, heavy equipment <br />will be operated primarily during daylight hours. <br />' Explanation of any Associated Processing <br />Connell Resource uses processing equipment commonly used by most sand and gravel <br />mining operations. This includes crushers, screens, wash plant, and conveyors. Connell also <br />has an asphalt batch plant. <br />
