The owner/operator is in the process of making
some personnel changes at the operation. Actually, production was pretty sporadic
throughout the last year. Some of the remaining dredge material was tapped but most of
the material sold was taken from stockpiles.
The operation has thus far affected nearly all of the permit area (i.e., 9 + acres).
However, some unmined material remains and some of the affected land continues to be
occupied by stockpiles of screened and sorted materials for sale.
fQo topsoil existed within the permit boundary because 100 % of the site was
occupied by placer dredge tailing. Therefore, revegetation is not required in the reclamation
plan. However, we have back-hauled, stoclcpiled, and distributed some soils for
reclamation on a voluntary basis.
As discussed with you a couple of times through the last year or so, we are now in
the process of coming to you for bond release on the area that is reclaimed, after which we
wish to amend the permit by adding acreage on the other end of the permit, thus allowing
us to continue mining the windrow of placer dredge material.
Please call with any questions.
Yours Very Truly,
C~,~.,~.---
Larry F.
